Birth Control For Acne? Please Read?

I'm 15 and have very severe acne. I've had acne for two or three years, it started before I hit puberty. It's always been severe. And I've tried all the well known cleansers, none worked. Months ago, I started using Lye Soap. And my face cleared up A BIT, its still very severe. I do all the small things too, no makeup, I keep my hair out of my face, I don't touch it, I don't drink soda, etc. Will my doctor put me on birth control for my acne? I am not sexually active. I don't have cramps, my periods are irregular though. Will a doctor put me on birth control just for my acne? Or will she need a better reason? Please, I'm desperate and I need to know. :/
