How do you get dried ink out of an HP Photosmart printer?

My HP Photosmart printer will print photos, but they come out green. I have replaced all ink cartridges and cleaned the printer head, but the magenta ink isn't coming out...someone told me there could be dried ink between the cartridge and printer head. If this is the problem, how to get the dry ink out without having to replace the entire printer?
