What is the best way to put magenta in blonde hair without dying it? What do I tell the hairdresser?

I have blonde hair with a dark brown halo and want magenta on the sides of my face, right where the two colors meet. I don't really want to dye my hair since it will fade so easy. I don't want removable extensions either... I'd prefer a more permanent method of adding color. I'm sure there's a way to do this, but don't know how to go about it...
